Lento

Chef Faisal Naser is an Emirati chef and entrepreneur, co-founder and Executive Chef of the artisanal street-food concept Lento. His culinary foundation was established through training in the United Kingdom, beginning in Leeds in 2006, where experience across several restaurants developed his hands-on, disciplined approach.

His work is centered on rustic, comfort-focused cooking that emphasizes flavor and technique. He has participated in collaborations with international and Michelin-level chefs, which continue to inform his culinary development.

His philosophy prioritizes thoughtful preparation and authenticity, focusing on creating familiar and considered dishes.

During wintertime, a warm ramen hug from Kinoya is all I need. And the non-ramen menu is underrated: the unagi, wings, and miso eggplant are standouts
The best way to finish a great, hearty meal at Yaba is with their Gemar ice cream, honey, and Iraqi tea
I love Maisan15 for both the food and the space, especially during winter. The dip trio with pita is hard to beat
Three by Eva feels like home — the warmth of Eva and her daughters really comes through in the food
Being looked after by Chef Mohammad Orfali is always a pleasure. His off-menu, experimental dishes elevate the experience, and the pide with house-made sujuk and guindilla chillies is a constant highlight
3Fils is an icon: proudly homegrown and Emirati. Hats off to the team for keeping it a cult favourite for many years
The best falafel for me is from Qasmiat Al Fawal. Lallummas (Karama) does outstanding South Indian street food
The green curry at Asian Street is still my personal favourite. Try the lamb neck qoozi from Almaskoof and thank me later
