Kelvin Kelly is a South African-born chef and Partner at One Life Kitchen & Café in Dubai. His culinary philosophy centers on simplicity, integrity, and flavor, with a deep respect for high-quality, clean ingredients and honest cooking.

Relocating to Dubai in 2015, he has become an integral part of the city’s evolving food scene. Over the past decade, his approach—focusing on from-scratch, balanced, and characterful dishes—has shaped menus that consistently celebrate real food and seasonal produce.

Renowned for his calm leadership and meticulous attention to detail, Kelly believes exceptional food begins with superb ingredients and a genuine connection to guests. This ethos has cultivated a loyal community that returns for both the flavors and the authentic experience behind each plate.

My favorite establishment in the city, hands down, is Jun's. The food is incredible and fairly priced, the music is always on point, and the staff are well-informed without ever seeming robotic in their service. The tasting menu is literally a journey through experiences, flavors, and memories. It ticks all the boxes, in my opinion. It certainly helps that the chef/partner is a legend and a genuinely nice guy.
